A few weeks back Brandon and the two oldest boys traveled down to Corpus Christi with a group from the church for an overnight on the USS Lexington. It was a long drive there, a short sleep and then a long drive back, but they had a great time!
Rylie was very impressed with the big guns and could not stop telling everyone stories about pretending to shoot them on his trip. He is the kind of kid that is not impressed with everything, but once he finds something impressive it tends to hold his attention for quite a while.
Braden returned home with the official Royal Rangers Outpost 448 Night Night Blankie. It's a little inside joke in the form of a blanket that circulates through the group during camps and special trips. The tradition calls for the current holder of the blanket to secretly slip the bright pink blanket into someone's bag for them to discover once they get home. The lucky dude is suppose to sew (or have his mom sew) on some sort of patch that represents that boy and then continue the tradition by passing it on during the next trip. Braden was quite excited to bring home the pink night night blankie and I was equally excited that my first patch sewing job was successful! Now to start on their vests...
