Court and School Report.

Today was the 60 day status hearing for Cati and Braden's father. Basically we were all called together to find out, officially, if he has complied with any of the outlined requirements presented to him by CPS. To our surprise, their father never showed. In that case the show goes on and all official parties give their reports and we will meet again in another 60 days for the next update.

The CPS caseworker reported that the children are thriving in their new environment and she is pleased with their progress. She also reported that the father has neglected to begin any of the required services and he also recently refused to take a drug test. All of this, of course, only helps strengthen the case against him. At this point it is looking more and more like Cati and Braden will be permanent members of our family, which is a relief and a burden all at the same time. However, Brandon and I are both aware God is in control and we are trusting in Him to get all of us through this major life change.

Today was also report card day. And I am very pleased to report that both Cati and Braden made straight A's during the first six weeks at their new school. Cati's teacher wrote an extra little brag on her card expressing how much she loves having her in class. I'm so proud of both of these kiddos for all the hard work they are putting into their school work, especially considering all the other activities they have each week (counseling, visitation with dad and home visits from CPS).

Way to go Cati and Braden...Uncle Brandon and Aunt Lindsay are very proud of you. Keep up the good work!
